Introduction

Baiyun SS821 is a single-component semi-transparent neutral silicone structural sealant, focusing on the design of structural bonding and sealing for point glass curtain walls, full glass curtain walls, glass lighting roofs and other glass structural projects. It has excellent structural bonding properties and Weather aging resistance performance, after artificial accelerated weather aging test, there is no obvious change in the physical and chemical properties of the sealant. When in use, use a glue gun to squeeze the glue from the sealant cylinder to the part that needs to be bonded and sealed. The sealant absorbs moisture in the air at room temperature and solidifies into an elastomer to form a bonded seal.

Single-component, translucent, easy to use, good extrudability and thixotropy in the temperature range of 10~40℃, just use a glue gun to extrude and apply directly;

4.Usage restrictions

SS821 transparent silicone sealant cannot be used in the following situations:

Cannot be used for structural bonding of hidden frame and semi-hidden frame glass curtain wall;

It is not suitable for use on materials that can ooze grease, plasticizers or solvents, such as the surface of oil-impregnated wood;

It is not suitable to be used in tight and unventilated places, because the silicone structural sealant needs to absorb moisture in the air to cure;

Not suitable for use on frosty or wet surfaces;

Not suitable for sealing of polycarbonate materials;

Not suitable for use on copper, lead and galvanized metal surfaces;

It is not suitable to be used in places that are continuously immersed in water or humid places all the year round;

When the surface temperature of the material is lower than 10℃ or higher than 40℃, it is not suitable for construction.

7.Storage and expiry date

Adhesion test:

Baiyun brand silicone sealant series products have excellent adhesion to most building materials, such as glass, anodized aluminum, ceramic tiles, granite, masonry, wood, steel and most plastics. However, due to the continuous emergence of new building materials and the application of new surface treatment technologies, we cannot say that the sealant is suitable for all materials. In some cases, it is necessary to test the adhesion of the sealant and the materials used in the project. The company’s laboratory can conduct adhesion tests for customers, evaluate the adhesion performance of the company’s sealant products and the materials selected in the customer’s engineering, and provide the experimental results, product recommendations, surface cleaning methods and whether to use primers, etc. The content is submitted to the client in writing.

Compatibility test

If the auxiliary materials for assembly such as foam strips, rubber strips, and double-sided adhesive strips are incompatible with the silicone rubber, the silicone rubber will be discolored and even lose its adhesion. In order to avoid the occurrence of such problems, the company's laboratory provides customers with compatibility testing services. Customers can mail (or in other forms) the auxiliary materials selected in the project to us, and our company's laboratory will conduct a compatibility test and give a written test report.

9.Interface design and construction method

The design of the structural interface of silicone rubber must be carried out by a full-time designer in accordance with JGJ102 "Technical Specification for Glass Curtain Wall Engineering";

The interface of the silicone structural glue must be able to be filled with the glue by the general standard construction method;

The interface design must allow the structural adhesive to come into contact with air to facilitate curing, and must not move during curing.

10.curing time

After SS821 is extruded and exposed to air, the curing reaction will begin to occur from the surface to the inside, and it will be fully cured to produce strong adhesion after 21 days.
