Hard disk video crash status analysis

2021-05-02

[ Huaqiang Security Network News ]

When the monitoring host performs video recording on the hard disk, the video crashes, which is caused by the following reasons.

1. Video crashes caused by improper installation of video card hardware and exclusion.

The negligence in the installation of hardware peripherals often leads to inexplicable crashes, and this phenomenon is often revealed gradually after the use of the monitor for a period of time, and thus is somewhat confusing.

DVR

The component is not installed properly, the plug is loose, the connection is not correct, and the video card and the I/O slot are in poor contact, which often causes the video to crash. For example, during the recording process, the video does not move, and the slot is docked. Looseness often causes the program to crash during operation, or even the system cannot be started. The problem of contact between the board and the slot (socket) often causes various crashes. To troubleshoot these problems, simply unpack the appropriate boards and chips, or unplug them from the slots (sockets) and reinstall them. If you have a free slot (socket), you can also replace the part with a slot (socket) to solve the contact problem. Incorrect cable connections can also cause crashes.

2. The poor thermal performance of the video card during work can also cause the video to crash.

The monitor has been used for many years, and there is a lot of dust, which causes the video to crash: dust is the enemy of the monitor. Excessive dust adhering to the surface of the video card can cause poor heat dissipation of these components, and dust on the circuit board often causes a short circuit in a humid environment. This can lead to a crash.

The specific treatment method can be used to sweep the dust with a brush, or use a cotton swab dipped in anhydrous alcohol to clean the dust collecting components. Be careful not to leave the wool and cotton of the brush and cotton swab on the board and components and become a new source of crash.

3. The video card component is wet due to the video crash.

Failure to use the monitor for a long time may cause some components to get wet and not function properly. The low heat block of the hair dryer can be used to "dry" the wetted components. Be careful not to heat a part of the component for too long or the temperature is too high to avoid baking the component.

4. The video card and chip pins are oxidized to cause poor contact: pull out the board and chip, gently wipe the surface of the lead with an eraser to remove oxides, and reinsert the socket.

Another point is that the damage of the video card itself will also cause the video to crash, generally need to replace the video card to solve the problem.

Program cannot start troubleshooting

Monitor users sometimes encounter such a fault phenomenon during use: Double-click the "program icon" on the desktop after starting the monitor, and find that the program cannot be started. What should I do if I encounter this situation?

Before maintaining such failures, we must first understand the cause of such failures. After theoretical analysis and maintenance practices, the technical experts of the pedestrian group found that the parallel dongle and USB serial puppy of the monitor often caused the program to fail. The important reason for starting up should be to check whether the software drivers of these two components are running and the hardware is normal.

With this understanding, we can proceed with the related maintenance. First check if the two dog connectors are loose. You can re-plug them and try again. If you still can't rule them out, let's take a look. The installation and operation of the relevant startup programs for these two dogs is normal. If it is found to be abnormal, we can reinstall their drivers, find their drivers in the Elvis installation software and reinstall them. After the installation is successful, the problem is solved. However, there are cases where reinstallation cannot be ruled out. At this time, it is doubtful that the two dogs have hardware problems. You can change the parallel dog and serial dog with the same specifications. By replacing, you can quickly find out which dog is the reason.

With the above analysis method, the monitoring machine user can solve the failure that the program can not be started.

Reasons for the slow start of the monitor and its elimination

Everyone hopes that the monitor can enter the Windows system immediately without waiting, but for various reasons, it often fails to do so, and even a crash occurs when it starts up. In fact, sometimes the slow startup speed of Windows is not its own problem, but caused by some devices or software. Let's take a look at the following six reasons why the system is slow to start. Check whether your monitor is similar.

1.USB hard disk device

If the monitor is connected to a USB drive at startup, try disconnecting it to see if the boot speed has changed. Generally speaking, because the USB interface is slow, the corresponding device will have a significant impact on the startup speed of the monitor. You should try to connect the USB hard disk device after booting.

At the same time, it is prompted that since each drive (including the optical drive) is detected when Windows starts up, if the CD is placed in the CD-ROM drive, the startup time of the monitor will be extended.

2. NIC device impact

If the settings are not correct, the network card will also obviously affect the system startup speed. If your monitor is connected to the LAN, after installing the network card driver, the system will automatically obtain the IP address through DHCP by default, but most units of the LAN There is no DHCP server, so if the user is set to "automatically obtain an IP address", the system will continuously search the network for a DHCP server when it starts up, until the IP address or timeout is obtained, which naturally affects the startup time. Therefore, the LAN user is better Your own monitor specifies a fixed IP address.

3. File and printer sharing

Some monitors with Windows XP Professional will also have a very slow startup problem. The system seems to crash. After logging in to the system, the desktop does not appear. The monitor just stops responding and can be used normally after 1 minute. This is due to the use of the Bootvis.exe program, the Mrxsmb.dll file added 67 seconds for the monitor to start! To solve this problem, just stop sharing folders and printers: select "Start → Settings → Network and Dial-up Connections", right-click "Local Area Connection", select "Properties", and cancel "This connection uses the following in the window that opens" Restart the monitor by checking the box next to "File and Printer Sharing for Microsoft Networks" under Selected Components.

4. Disconnect unused network drives

In order to eliminate or reduce the number of network connections that Windows must re-establish, it is recommended to disconnect some network drives that do not need to be used, that is, enter "My Computer", right-click the network drive that has already been mapped, and select "Disconnect". .

5. There are too many hard disk partitions.

If your monitor Windows 2000 is not upgraded to SP3 or SP4 and you have too many partitions defined, it will make the startup very long and even hang. Therefore, it is recommended to upgrade the latest SP4, and it is best not to divide too many areas for the hard disk. Because Windows must load each partition at startup, as the number of partitions increases, the total amount of time to complete this operation will continue to grow. 

6. Too many desktop icons will cause trouble

There are too many icons on the monitor's desktop to slow down the system startup. Every time Windows starts and displays the desktop, you need to find the icons of the desktop shortcuts one by one and load them. The more icons, the more time it takes. It is recommended that you put the less commonly used desktop icons in a special folder or simply delete them! At the same time, some anti-virus software provides a system startup scan function, which will take a lot of time. In fact, if you have already turned on the real-time monitoring function of anti-virus software, then the scanning system will be redundant when you start it. Forbidden!

Monitor alarm IO error and troubleshooting

When the user starts the monitoring system of the monitoring machine, sometimes the alarm IO error occurs, and the alarm cannot be performed normally. This type of fault is generally caused by an error in the alarm IO setting of the monitoring machine or an abnormal operation of the alarm board.

First, we check if the monitor's IO settings are normal. If you encounter an error, you should reset it again. Then start the Elvis alarm program to see if it is normal. If it is still not normal, then let's see if there is any problem with the alarm board.

The monitor alarm IO error is mostly caused by the failure of the alarm board. If the alarm board is not working properly, it will cause the alarm of the monitor to be faulty. For example, if the plug-in cable on the alarm board is loosely plugged, the contact is poor, and the damage of the components on the alarm board will directly affect the operation of the circuit. This also directly leads to this. The occurrence of a class failure. In this case, the user can contact the Walker Group Technical Department to have an experienced technical engineer repair the alarm board for you or replace it so that the problem can be solved smoothly.

Monitor the host to start the black screen troubleshooting

"Starting the black screen" is a common fault in the use of the monitor, mostly due to poor contact or hardware damage. The "minimum system method" can be used in combination with the replacement method to check the repair.

If the new machine is installed or the hardware is replaced improperly, the black screen is more likely to occur. If the fault is caused by replacing the hardware, please check if it is caused by the following reasons:

The hard disk or optical drive data cable is reversed;

The system detects CPU errors (more likely to occur when overclocking);

Short circuit and poor contact caused by oblique insertion of the board;

The expanded memory module does not meet the motherboard requirements.

(1) The power supply system fails and causes a black screen

Symptom: After the power is turned on, the indicator of the panel of the main unit is not bright. You can't hear the rotation of the power supply fan and the self-test sound of the hard disk. The whole system is silent. This is a phenomenon in which the device in the host is not properly powered. Inspection and treatment method: The power supply system failure may be caused by the disconnection of the AC power supply line, abnormal AC power supply voltage, power failure of the monitoring machine, or short circuit in the host. The power supply system fault is not necessarily caused by the host power supply damage. When the AC power supply voltage is abnormal (overvoltage or undervoltage), the host power supply is unloaded, and there is a short circuit in the machine, the internal protection circuit of the host power supply starts, and the output of the power supply is automatically cut off. To protect devices inside the host.

1. When the power supply system fails, first check whether the AC power supply is connected to the host.

2. After confirming that the AC power supply is connected to the host, close the ear to the switching power supply, turn on the power switch for a short time and pay attention to it. If you hear the sound of “Zizi...”, the power supply is in “self-protection”. The reason is that the AC power supply is not normal or there is a short circuit in the machine, which causes the protection circuit inside the power supply to start. Please follow the steps below to check the processing:

· First check the AC power supply voltage of the mains power plug with the universal voltage meter 250V. If the AC voltage exceeds 240V or lower than 150V, the overvoltage and undervoltage protection circuits in the main power supply will start and stop the power supply to the equipment. Please use a regulated power supply or UPS power supply to supply power to the host.

·If the AC power supply voltage is normal, unplug the interface card and other equipment power cables and signal cables one by one, and then power on the test machine. If the host power supply is restored when a device is removed, the newly removed device is damaged or improperly installed. , so that the short circuit protection circuit in the power supply is started, and the power supply to the equipment in the machine is stopped.

·If the power cord of all devices is removed, the power supply is still in the no-output state, indicating that the power supply is faulty. Please repair the power supply.

Note: At least one load (such as optical drive or hard disk) should be connected when repairing the power supply. If the monitor is powered on, the monitor power supply no-load protection circuit will start and stop output.

3. If the power of the host is not working, please check whether the power switch of the host installed on the front panel of the mainframe is normal. If the power switch is intact, it is usually a power failure.

(B), do not self-test black screen failure

Symptom: After the power is turned on, the indicator of the main unit panel is on, and the fan inside the machine rotates normally, but the display is not displayed. When starting, the three indicators in the upper right corner of the keyboard are not flashing, and the "嗒嗒嗒..." sound and the PC horn alarm sound from the self-test memory are not heard.

 Check and processing method: It can be seen from the fault phenomenon that the power supply of the host is basically normal (does not rule out that the host power supply is faulty), but the self-test procedure in the BIOS fails to start, and a crash occurs. The monitor, display card, memory, CPU, and motherboard should be checked primarily.

Since there is no prompt message for self-test black screen failure, usually only the "minimum system method" check processing can be used. "Minimum system method" means to keep only the basic equipment such as the main board, memory stick, CPU, display card, display and power supply. Check the minimum system composed of these basic devices first. After checking to confirm that the remaining system can work normally, Further check other equipment.

When using the "Minimum System Method", it is recommended to use the replacement method to check if the monitor works normally before opening the chassis and unplugging other devices. If only the minimum system is retained, the monitor still does not work normally after power-on. Generally, the memory module, the display card, and the CPU are sequentially checked by the replacement method. After confirming that the monitor, memory module, display card and CPU are working, the fault source is only the motherboard and the power supply. The easiest way to distinguish between a motherboard failure or a power failure is to try a good power supply.

(3), self-test failed black screen failure

Symptom: After the power is turned on, the indicator panel of the main unit is on, and the fan inside the machine rotates normally. You can hear the rotation of the hard disk, the "嗒嗒嗒..." sound from the self-test memory, and the alarm sound of the PC speaker. When the main startup is started, the three indicators in the upper right corner of the keyboard are flashing, but the display is not displayed.

Check and processing method: The fault phenomenon indicates that the power supply of the host is basically normal. Most of the circuit of the main board has no fault, and the first 64 KB of the memory can be read and written normally. The BIOS fault diagnosis program starts running and can send an alarm signal through the PC speaker. This failure is mainly caused by hardware problems such as monitors, graphics cards, memory, motherboards, and power supplies.

Most of these faults can be used to determine the approximate location of the fault through the horn alarm. Because different versions of the BIOS sound signal encoding methods are different, this article uses the motherboard (AWARD BIOS) as an example to introduce its inspection and processing methods.

1. If you hear a short beep of "beep beep...", it indicates that there is a slight short circuit in the machine. Please turn off the power immediately, open the chassis, and unplug the interface card and other equipment power cables and signal cables from the main unit one by one. If the system returns to normal when a device is removed, it is a moderate fault that has just been removed due to damage or improper installation of a device. If you only keep the power supply connected to the motherboard power cord, you still hear the "beep beep..." continuous short sound, there are three reasons for the fault:

1 The motherboard is short-circuited to the chassis, and the motherboard can be removed for power-on inspection;

2 power supply overload capability is poor, try to change only the power supply;

3 The motherboard has a short circuit fault, please repair the motherboard.

Warning: Please turn off the power when plugging and unplugging the device. The hot plugging will damage the device.

2. If you hear intermittent long sounds (some machines have long interruptions), it means that the memory detection is wrong. Users who use ATX power supply use the eraser to clean the "golden finger" of the memory stick. A memory stick or a set of memory sticks, re-insert and install it. If it still doesn't work, please use the replacement method to check the memory stick.

3. If you hear the "嗒嗒嗒..." sound from the self-test memory, you can see that the three speakers in the upper right corner of the keyboard are flashing, the speaker inside the monitor no longer makes other sounds, and you can feel the hard disk in the startup operation. Explain that the self-test passed, it is likely that the display is faulty. Please check if the monitor power is on, the monitor power switch is turned on, the brightness and contrast knob of the monitor are accidentally "off". After eliminating the above possibilities, it is best to connect the monitor to Try it on other computers.

4. If the PC horn sounded is one long and three short (or one long and two short), it is a display system failure; fast one long three short (or one long and two short) is to detect the display card error, usually the display card Poor contact with the motherboard slot; slow speed is one long and three short is to detect the display error, please check whether the monitor and the signal card plug of the display card are in good contact, whether the monitor is connected to the display card plug pin is broken or broken (some monitors There are only 12 plug pins). Please use the eraser to clean the "Golden Finger" of the display card and re-insert it or change the slot test. If there is no display, try to insert a good display card.

5. If you hear other alarm sounds, please note that the PC horn sound is different when different BIOS detects hardware failure. After confirming that the monitor can work normally, open the chassis and listen to the sound of the PC horn before and after unplugging the display card. There are changes that can help you further determine the source of the problem.
